Do employers have to deposit $5,000 in case to execute the Security Bond?
It is not necessary for the employer to put up a cash deposit of $5,000. In
place of cash, a guarantee by a bank or an insurance company will satisfy the
requirements of Immigration Department. However, ultimately the employer is
still liable for the same amount if he breaches the terms of the Security Bond,
e.g.: failure to repatriate the maid within 30 days of cancelling her work
permit.
