Filipino maid (domestic worker) Nenet An4dres is a nanny, cook and a
housekeeper too. With 4 years experience working for the same family of 5,
she is now available for as soon as possible.
Background
Nenet is from the province of So Cotabato about 2 days from Manila by sea.
There her father works as a farmer.
Nenet is the eldest among 5 children.
This is a plus, for the eldest girl in the family usually has more
initiative and Nenet is no different for when she was not working she would
help out with the housekeeping and attending to her younger siblings. Nenet
has done 1½ years years of a 2-year post-secondary course in Hotel
and Restaurant Management. She gave up when she was offered a job in
Singapore. (After all a college diploma was no guarantee of a job.)
Work History
- Nenet worked at various temporary jobs after secondary.
- Later she went to a neighbouring province in answer to a cousin's call
for help with her children. While there Nenet decided to go go to college to
study Hotel and Restaurant Management - at the same time helping out with
the housekeeping and attending to her cousin's children aged 1, 3 and 5 at
the start. Meanwhile, she applied for a position abroad. When she received a
job offer, she gave up her college.
During her stay with her cousin, she attended to the housekeeping and
childcare when her cousin was at work (in Hong Kong). She attended classes
at night when her aunt (cousin's mother) took care of the children.
- Nenet came to Singapore in November 2006 to work for a local Chinese
extended family of 7, with 3 children aged 1, 4 and 5 during the first two
years. During the next two years, Madam moved out of her parents' house.
Madam is a businesswoman and left care of the children and the housekeeping
to Nenet with Granny's assistance during the first two years. Madam's father
live with the family. He is a good cook and taught Nenet cooking when she
was new.
Childcare
Nenet has taken care of or helped to take care of 8 children in all - 3 in
the Philippines (starting from the ages of 1, 3 and 5) and 3 in Singapore
(starting from the ages of 1, 4 and 5). Nenet is fond of children and gets
along fine with all the children in her charge. She says the 3 children in
the current family, especially the youngest one, are all very attached to
her.
Cooking
Nenet can cook both Filipino and Chinese food. In Singapore she has been
cooking for her host family for the past 4 years after a short period of
instruction. She says the family generally enjoy her cooking.
She can cook simple home dishes such as
- Curry chicken, roast chicken, fried chicken wings/thighs, herbal
chicken, chicken stew, chicken rice

college and speaks and understands English quite well. She is pleasant,
