Over the years that we have been involved in recruiting and
placing foreign domestic workers so inadequately called maids,
we have learnt much from both employer and employee alike. And
continue to learn. We hope that experienced and successful
employers who chance by this page will share their
knowledge with others.
What follows we hope will be helpful to first-time employers or old hands who have not been blessed with good maids, however they may define "good". We are also concerned with a first-time foreign maid, for she is most vulnerable to the misunderstanding that often arises from a lack of appreciation of the gulf separating two peoples from different cultures and different experiences that may have a bearing on their performance as foreign domestic workers. We have devoted one section of advice for their benefit. We
encourage employers to visit this section for this way they will
better appreciate their concerns, their weaknesses and hopefully
make this section available to their domestic helper.
