Recently I interviewed one maid who stood out above others. She had only one
employer in the last four years. She was a teacher in her own country and
speaks English quite well and I certainly had no difficulty communicating
with her. But there is one thing she says that make me doubt her. Her reason
for wanting a change is that she has to sleep in the kitchen the last four
years and she also does not want me to check with her employer about her
character and performance.
She said that her employer and the family were all good and kind to her and paid her well. Although her employer was a local, she let her have a day off every Sunday. Her employer, by her own admission and from my understanding, is a good person. How can there be such contradiction?
Perhaps she does not want me to check with her employer because she has
something to hide? |
