All the studies to date seem to suggest that foreign maids from the
Philippines, Sri Lanka, India, Myanmar of Indonesia are such horrors who are
worse than useless. If you feed a dog, you derive the pleasure of watching
the dog wag its tail on seeing you. But the horror maids, in return for the
salary you pay and the food you feed her with, far from making life a little
more comfortable actually damage the clothes she is asked to wash and iron.
Or she may talk on the phone for hours leaving your little children
unattended and perhaps exposed to dangers.
However, from the postings led by Gloria at expatsingapore, it appears that
there are indeed good maids who are truly an asset to their employers. |
