I have recently interviewed a maid Nida and I like her very much. She has
asked me for a monthly food allowance. I am not sure about the practice here
and I have received conflicting advice. Most of my local friends tell me
that it is not necessary to give the maid a food allowance. Among my fellow
expats here in Singapore, the opinion is divided.
